Directions to Training Walk Locations

Ridgewood (SADDLE RIVER COUNTY PARK WILD DUCK POND AREA)

Ridgewood Avenue Ridgewood, NJ

From Route 17 North and South: Ridgewood Avenue exit, follow signs to Ridgewood Avenue. Continue ½ mile. Park is on the right. From Route 4 East and West: Paramus Road exit, go north approximately 6 miles. Turn left onto Ridgewood Avenue. Park is on the right. From Garden State Parkway: Exit 165/Ridgewood Avenue. Turn right onto Ridgewood Avenue. Follow approximately 2 miles. Park is on the right. We meet in Lot D on the left side just before the Park Exit

High Bridge/Columbia Trails

Take Route 78 West to Exit 17. After exiting, proceed north on Route 31 for 1.7 miles to Route 513 north. Turn right and follow Route 513 into High Bridge. After approximately 1 mile and passing under the train tracks, turn left into the center of High Bridge. Turn left into the municipal parking lot (after Boro Hall / Van Syckles Street).

The Tow Path

Coming from the north you take 287 south to exit 9 (River Rd) towards Bound Brook/Highland Pk, stay right towards Highland Park, take a right on River Road (about 3 miles), make a right on Landing Lane and an immediate right onto Johnson Dr. Go about .1 mile to the Grove 5 parking area on your left.

Coming from the south or NJ Turnpike, take the NJ Turnpike to Exit 9. Take Route 18 North to the Easton Avenue exit. Go to the first light which is Landing Lane and make a right turn. Go over the bridge and make the first left which is Johnson Drive. Follow Johnson Drive for .1 mile to the Grove 5 parking area on your left.

Lake Mohawk, Sparta

Take Route 80 to Exit 34B for Route 15 North towards Sparta. Stay on Route 15 North for approximately 8 miles. Take the exit for the "Lake Mohawk Business District". Follow the exit ramp onto Woodport Road. Continue on Woodport Road for 1.5 miles, and make a left at the light for Winona Parkway. Winona Parkway is a short downhill to the Lake Mohawk Plaza. Cross the plaza onto West Shore Trail, and about 100 feet further on your right will be a parking lot for the Lake Mohawk Country Club.

Paulinskill Trail and Sussex Branch Trails in Lafayette

There are two different start locations we use for the Paulinskill/Sussex Branch Trails:

1. Olde Lafayette Village Parking Lot

Take Rte 80 to Exit 34B for Rte 15 North toward Sparta. Follow 15 North for about 15 miles. Watch for signs for Rte 94 toward Newton. At the light for 94, turn left onto Rte 94 South toward Newton. Within 100 yards on the right you will see the entrance to Lafayette Village on the right. Enter the parking lot and park in front of the restaurant.

From the parking lot, the Sussex Branch Northwest trailhead starts immediately to the right of the parking lot. The Sussex Branch Southern Trail begins across the road (rt 94), continues to Warbasse and intersects with the Paulinskill trails.

2. Warbasse Junction

Follow the directions as above to Olde Lafayette Village, but instead of turning right into the Lafayette Village parking lot, continue south on Route 94. Less than 1 mile ahead, take a left onto Warbasse Junction Rd (CR 663). The trail head is about 0.5 mi. ahead on the right, it's just a dirt/gravel parking lot with a port-a-potty, look for it or you will miss it!

Palisades Park, Fort Lee

Take 95 towards the GW bridge and follow the signs for the lower level. You'll take the very last exit before the bridge. This is "Lemoine Ave./ Fort Lee exit." Then you'll drive through 2 lights on Bridge Plaza south/ Bruce Reynolds dr. Go straight to the end of the road and you will see the entrance to the FORT LEE HISTORIC PARK directly across the intersection at the traffic light. Go past the little entrance booth up the hill and we will meet in the parking lot at the top of the drive. For GPS reference you can put the intersection of Hudson Terrace, and Bruce Reynolds drive. (also called Bridge Plaza south) in Fort Lee NJ.

Chester Trails

From the north, take Route 80 west to Route 206 south, follow it down to the Chester area, then left onto Hillside Rd., left onto Larison Rd., right onto Pleasant Hill Rd., trail head is a short way down the road on the left...look for the Bethlehem Hermitage sign just beyond the entrance to the parking lot. From the south, take 287 to 206 North, then right onto Hillside Rd., follow directions as above from Hillside.

The Tourne, Mountain Lakes

From 287 South

Get off exit 45- Boonton. Go to end of ramp and make a left. Go to 3rd light and make a right-you will go up a steep hill which is Main Street in Boonton. Stay on this street and curve to the left when the road forks. This will bring you into Mt. Lakes- go through pillars and you are now on the Boulevard. Go to light and make a right on Pocono Rd. Make 2nd rt and take the road to end which is the parking lot.

From 287 North

Get off exit 41B (Route 80 West). Once on Rt. 80, take 1st exit and stay to the right. At 2nd light make a left onto Rt. 46 West. Go to 2nd light and make a right onto Blvd. PNC Bank is on the corner. At the light make a left onto Pocono Rd. Make 2nd rt and take road to end which brings you to parking lot and the lake.

Route 80 East

Get off exit 38 Denville and this will automatically bring you to Rt. 46 East. Take Rt 46 to the 4th light( you have to get in a left turn lane- there is a PNC Bank on the corner). You are now on the Blvd. and are in Mt. Lakes.

At the light make a left onto Pocono Rd. Make 2nd rt and take road to end which brings you to parking lot and the lake.

Nomahegan Park

Directions to Nomahegan Park:

(Revised directions due to bridge out on Springfield Avenue)

From the Garden State Parkway: Exit 137- turn right on North Ave. (Rt 28). At Elizabeth Ave. (Sunoco station on corner) make a right and continue to Orange Ave. (second stop sign) turn left to the traffic light and make a right onto Springfield Ave. The parking lot is about 1/2 mile on the right (across the street from Union County College). (Please note that an alternative from the GSP is to take Exit 138, turn right onto Kenilworth Boulevard. Follow the boulevard to the traffic light for Springfield Avenue and turn left onto Springfield Avenue. At the first traffic light turn left into the parking lot.)

From Rt. 22 (East and West) exit at Springfield Ave., proceed east towards Westfield - pass through four traffic lights - just before the fifth traffic light turn right onto Springfield Avenue - proceed to the traffic light and turn left into the parking lot (across the street from Union County College).

Verona Park

Directions to Verona Park:

From GSP North: Exit 145 to Route 280 West. Get off of 280 West at Exit 7 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange. Bear to the right, and turn right onto Pleasant Valley Way. Continue on Pleasant Valley Way; it will change names to Lakeside Avenue when you enter Verona. Take Lakeside Avenue to the end - Bloomfield Avenue. Verona Park is at the corner of Lakeside Avenue and Bloomfield Ave. Turn right onto Bloomfield Avenue and turn right into the park. The parking lot is further down. We will meet in the parking lot closest to the Boat house.

From GSP South: Same as above.

Mahwah

If you are south of Mahwah take Rte 17 North to the MacArthur Blvd exit...just after Home Depot and Boston Market..at light turn left and go back over Rte 17..go through next light and up hill (Mac Arthur) at top of hill see Ramapo Crossing strip mall. We meet in there by the Dunkin Donuts on the left side of the strip mall.

From Rte 287 North take Rte 17 South to Mac Arthur Blvd. Turn right at top of exit ramp. Go up MacArthur Blvd and at top of hill (light at intersection of MacArthur and Ridge Road), go through the light, turn right into Ramapo Crossings strip mall (about 75 feet after light) and park near Dunkin Donuts.

Liberty State Park

New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 14B, Liberty State Park/Liberty Science Center.....follow signs for Liberty State Park...follow road to the end of the park towards the Statue of Liberty. We meet in the parking lot near the Information Center Building.

Randolph/Freedom Park

Route 297 to Route 10 West.....to exit for Millbrook Road....follow jughandle to left and go back across Rte 10 onto Millbrook Road....pass the Police Station on the left and the Middle School and the High School on the right...Freedom Park is on the left after your pass the schools. meet inthe upper lot near the basketball courts.

Millburn

Route 287 to Route 24 East, exit for Millburn, loop over Rte 24 and at the light bear left onto Millburn Avenue...meet at the Sneaker Factory on Millburn Avenue. Park near the train station or the library.

Ginty Field, Morristown

-FROM I-287 NORTHBOUND: Exit 35. Turn RIGHT onto South Street and proceed past traffic light. Make LEFT on Woodland Avenue.*** Follow race parking signs. Ginty Field will be on the LEFT next to police HQ. From Route 124 EAST or WEST: Proceed to South Street ( Route 601 ). Cross over Rt. 287. After Traffic light, make LEFT onto Woodland Avenue. Follow*** above. FROM I-287 SOUTHBOUND: Exit 35. At traffic light at end of ramp, make RIGHT onto Madison Avenue. LEFT at light onto South Street. Go through one traffic light. Make LEFT onto Woodland Avenue. Follow *** above.

Loantaka Park

...follow directions as above onto South Street, pass Woodland Avenue and Loantaka Park is approximately four tenths of a mile past Woodland on the left side, just after the Horse Farm. Meet in the parking lot.

Rockland Lake

Rockland Lake has two loops, and outside loop and inner loop. Outside loop - 4 miles (has hills) Inner loop - 3 miles, and is flat

directions: (the only thing is we have to decide which parking lot to use. There are so many lots. If you want me to go pick out a certain lot, let me know, i will swing by the park and figure out which one would work best for us.)

Via NYS Thruway Take exit 11 from I-287. Go to traffic light. Make a left onto Route 9W North. Go 4 miles to the park on the right. Parking Field #1 is near the North Park Entrance. First entrance you see will be the South Park Entrance or continue on 9W North to the North Park Entrance.

Via Garden State Parkway Take Garden State Parkway North to NYS Thruway South. Take Thruway to exit 11. Make a left at the end of the exit ramp onto Route 59. At first traffic light, make a left onto Route 9W North. Take Route 9W North for 4 miles to the park on the right. Parking Field #1 is near the North Park Entrance. First entrance you see will be the South Park Entrance. Continue on 9W North to the North Park Entrance.

Go to stop sign, turn left onto Saddle River Road
Continue on Saddle River Road for 1 ¾ mile
Park is on the right

From Route 80 West:
Exit 63, Lodi/Fairlawn
Go to end of ramp to stop sign, make right
Go to first traffic light, left onto Essex Street
Continue on Essex Street for ¼ mile to Saddle River Road
Make right and continue on Saddle River Road for 2 miles
Park is on the right

From Route 80 East:
Exit 62B, Saddle River Road/Fairlawn/Lodi
At stop sign make left onto Saddle River Road
Continue on Saddle River Road for 1 ¾ mile
Park is on the right

From Route 17 North:

Exit at Essex Street/Maywood/Paterson
Top of ramp, make left onto Essex Street
Continue ½ mile to Saddle River Road. Make Right
Continue 2 miles on Saddle River Road
Park is on the right

From Route 17 South:
Exit at Essex Street/Maywood/Paterson
Top of ramp, make right onto Essex Street
Continue ½ mile to Saddle River Road. Make right
